Geal

Description

Geal is a slightly older man of short stature. He stands slightly hunched over most of the time, under the weight of a bulky backpack. His face is characterised by a large nose with a little moustache and a pair of vintage glasses. He is often fiddling with his glasses, taking notes, or simply observing the world around him. Being fairly new to the city, he is still getting to grips with the nature of the dream.

Background

Geal is employed as a sort of archaeologist. He has been well educated, and derives great joy from discovering new information about previously unknown civilisations and settlements. He has a particular fondness for architecture. This passion carries over into the city, and so he spends a lot of time exploring and writing down what he sees. His curious mind ensures that he is always questioning the methods and reasons behind the dream city, and producing crackpot theories.

Shardic Life

When first in the city, Geal was in the middle of an expedition into a nearby mountain range. Adverse weather conditions meant that he spent a lot of time indoors with nothing to do. Having previously heard tales of a dream city, this boredom drove him to start experimenting for himself, and so he acheieved the awakening. He carried on his dream while continuing with his expedition.

It soon came to a close, and so it was time for him to return home. Embarking upon the eight-day voyage, he had little time for visiting the city. Upon arriving home, he was greeted by his wife and son, whom he educated about the dream over the following weeks. He spent his time juggling family life, restful sleep, and preparing his findings for review, before his results were looked upon favourably, and he obtained the funding for a second expedition. He continues in this way now, going out and then returning home to his family while attempting to visit the city on a regular basis.
