Training Area
From UnderlightWiki
The training area is a plane with no name that can be identified. This is due to the fact that attempting to evoke any art or use a talisman produces the message 'Please wait until you have entered Threshold or a House to do that,' and therefore Know cannot be used.
Most of the training area is compulsory for the player to walk through if the 'start with training' option is selected on the log in screen. It introduces basic game mechanics such as how to jump, talk, emote or use talismans as well as giving a basic rundown of the arts that a newly awakened dreamer will possess.
If the player opts out of this training process they instead enter the game in the Courtyard of Awakening that follows the training (but can still go back and explore). At the courtyard, the player is given a paragraph explaining the state of the city (also known as a message of the day) and can enter through the gate of any house. Pre-SoT, walking through each gate gave an explanation of that house's belief system, however in more recent times, this feature has been discarded as houses frequently rise and fall. Banners on either side of each gate indicate whether a house is currently open, by being either shredded or whole.
Through each gate, a dreamer can enter Threshold in the respective room for that house, or, if they are a member of the house, can take a second portal straight to the stronghold. It should be noted that after using one of these portals, the training area can not be revisited without exiting the game.
